Dream Car
Dream Car is part of a mini series which also includes Dream House, both sold separately.
Dream House and Dream Car stem from a place of overwhelm. By returning to simple, childlike mark-making the works reconnect with a time when creativity was unfiltered. When drawing something recognisable for the first time brought excitement, pride and validation, often celebrated in small but meaningful ways, like being placed on the fridge.
The house symbolises comfort, stability and personal sanctuary. The car is independence, ambition and freedom. While these are universal symbols, they also reflect whether the ’dream’ they represent aligns with the expectations and ideas of success we absorb while growing up.
Set against a contrasting, stone-textured background, each image is created with playful, uneven lines and little concern for technical precision. Like early human mark-making in caves, the works reduce imagery to essential forms to communicate meaning. They prioritise instinct over perfection, suggesting that the urge to draw and make sense of the world through marks is timeless, personal and deeply human.
These pieces are a celebration of returning to basics, of rediscovering wonder, play and the human impulse to create. They remind us that dreams are both personal and shared and that joy can be found by drawing, imagining and connecting with what truly matters.
